Request Police Records
The Ruidoso Police Department Records Division provides access to eligible police reports and public records.
To request police records, complete the online RPD Records Request form.
Please provide the required contact information and describe the records you are requesting as specifically as possible to help Records Division staff locate the appropriate documents
The form may be used to request:
Offense and incident reports
Audio and video records
Accident reports
Other Ruidoso Police Department records
If available, include the RPD case number, incident date or date range, incident location, and other details that can help identify the records you are seeking.
Written Public Records Requests
Prefer to submit a written form? Download the fillable RPD Request for Records form.
Under NMSA 1978, Section 14-2-8(C), a written request must provide the name, address, and telephone number of the person requesting access and identify the records sought with reasonable particularity.
You are not required to state a reason for inspecting public records.

Fees and Delivery
Fees vary depending on the records requested and the method of delivery:
Electronic delivery: No fee for records delivered by email or digital transfer.
Paper copies: $1.00 per page for reports and miscellaneous paper copies.
USB drive: $24.00 per agency-provided 16 GB USB drive. Personal USB drives are not accepted.
Crash reports: $14.00 per report through LexisNexis BuyCrash.
Mailing or delivery: Additional costs may apply.
Advance payment may be required.
